Life at Grassington House
Step foot inside our residential care home and you will see that we care for much more than people’s needs. We care about creating a home for our residents to enjoy.
We have a variety of shared social areas, all of which are wheelchair accessible. Our beautiful country garden blooms with flowers throughout the Spring and Summer.
Residents can relax in our homely lounge or in the light and bright conservatory.
We offer beautifully refurbished bedrooms in the heart of Dorset.
All 13 bedrooms at Grassington House are provided with either en-suite WC’s or easily accessible WC facilities. The rooms are situated across three floors.
Handrails have been added in the corridors to aid independent living and there is also equipment available when needed such as hoists, wheelchairs, walking aids and a passenger lift to the first floor and stair lift to the second floor.
- En-suite (in some rooms) or sink vanity unit
- Furniture can be provided if needed – we encourage residents to bring their own furniture if they wish, so it feels more like home.
- Own telephone line (on request)
- Visitor parking
We are always more than happy to organise services to come to the home when requested such as hairdressers, beauticians and chiropodists, just to name a few. When available carers can also accompany residents to local dentists, opticians or the bank as required.
The kitchen is at the heart of any good home and Grassington House is no exception. We are proud of our home cooked meals and puddings.
Breakfast is served at a time to suit each individual resident. Mid-morning teas and coffees are accompanied by biscuits.
For lunch there are two choices of home cooked meals every days, followed by one of our famous puddings.
Afternoon tea and cake is served around 3pm, tea at 5pm and supper at 7.30pm. Drinks and snacks are always on offer and we even cater for those that are partial to a midnight snack!
